Startup menu options doesnt respond

Hi there,

I bought a used  HP Pavilion g6 series notebook, but turned out that it has a password, so I created a CD to overpass it, the thing is that cd is not stating by it self on startup, so I tried to go through the startup menu and change Boot device options, and here was the problem !!  all the options shown in the startu menu are not working ,  What can I do !! pls help, I'm not an expert and don't understand big words, so pls take it easy on me when you answer : )

The notebook is HP Pavilion g6-1a40ca Notebook PC , windows 7

If I were you I'd order and run HP recovery discs for your model.  You can order them here.

refer to page 81 in the following weblink:

Please navigate to System Configuration option in menu, then to Boot Options and then to Boot Order to set the boot order.

once set, please save the changes and exit the BIOS. All the navigation procedures are available in the link above.

Thank you for your reply, I read page 81 and followed the instructions, but when I pess F10 nothing happens, I have these option but non of them work

F1 System info

F2 System diagnostics

F9 Boot device options

F10 Bios setup

F11 System recovery

Non of these works , the only thing that works is enetr which takes me to windows where I have to put a password.

Pls help !!

Just a quick question, do you think the Recovery Discs will run !! I mean the cd to reset the passwords didnt run automatically !!
