I am trying to create a recovery disk for my new dv3-2150.
The HP recovery manager tells me to put in the 1st out of 3 DVD-R
After burning it, it ejects the drive and writes a message on the screen:
enter the disk you have just created and close the drive.
I do that - and nothing happens... only thing I can do is "cancel".
Tried to change disk, tried booting... Any ides?
btw-can't order by mail the HP recovery disk at the moment.

The BIOS I have is F.07 and the BIOS on the HP support site is F.06
So do you still think I should go back one version?
Any other ideas?

I had the same problem with a brand new Pavilion dv6. Creation of disk 1 took about 3 hrs and then got stuck. Like original poster suggested, I upgraded the BIOS to the latest version and lo and behold it did work afterwards.

Resolved!
I called the local support and this is what they told me and it worked right away:
1) Use safe mode when burning the disks
2) Sse "dvd+r disks" - they are more sutale for the dvd drive
BTW - Some support centers tell you to upgrade the BIOS, some told me to revert it back to the original version. To my opinion it made no difference and the safe mode was the reason it worked. I guess some of the files are in use and get the whole thing stuck...
What would you do if when you bought a new car, you couldn't get a spare key? Needed to look up the internet for a way to get it, run to the store to get a special proper key, and make sure your car runs on special fuel for the key to work?
Sounds like a joke right? Nevertheless it works.
Happy new year to everybody.
