TX2Z fingerprint reader windows login issues

If I have the Digital Persona personal software installed, I cannot log into Vista 64 Home Premium by any other method than fingerprint. I click on the user icon and am looped back to the login (or change user) screen without getting a chance to enter a password. This occurs even if the user has no enrolled fingerprints.

 

If the digital persona software is uninstalled I can log in using my password just fine. I have not tried a user with no password set. All users have been admin users. 

 

(If I click on the user with the fingerprint as their user icon, I get the chance to enter a password, but I don't know that password since it appears to be a system-created account)
