I have the Dv6-6c48 with Windows 7 Home Premium. I want to upgrade to windows 7 Ultimate. How can I determine if it has a TPM chip on the motherboard for BitLocker?

Hi:
After looking at your service manual and system specs, I do not believe your notebook has a TPM chip.
You can find out for sure by going to your control panel, click on Device Manager, then click on the System Devices option. Look for a device labeled Infineon Trusted Platform Module.
If that device is not listed, you don't have one.
According to this link you can use bitlocker without TPM.

You're very welcome.
See my edited post about using Bitlocker w/o TPM.
