I have a HP Media Center PC m7360n that has crashed. On start up the fans run and the screen has vertical lines then the screen shows one of the following: "monitor going to sleep", no video output or change to 60hrtz and adjust the resolution. I am unable to start in safe mode or last functional start up. I do not have recovery disks. Will I be able to recover pictures/documents? Any assistance will be much appreciated.

This needs to be under "Desktop" and not laptop. Sounds like your video card is bad, call HP Support if it is still under warranty. If not you could but one from one of the big box stores or online.
