Upgrade Pavillion dv9774ca notebook from Vista 32-bit to Windows 7 64-bit

I want to upgrade my 32-bit Vista system to the 64-bit Windows 7 OS.

I know that I have to do a clean install, ie. reformat the disk and install from scratch.  You can only stay within the 32-bit format using the upgrade disk. I don't think it's worth the trouble or expense just to go to Win 7 and stay at 32-bits.

What I want to know is how do I reinstall all the HP support software that keeps the computer up to date.  Or should I just forget that and go with clean system?  I'm assuming Win 7 has all the drivers to support the hardware, but is this correct?

Has anybody done this?

Re: Upgrade Pavillion dv9774ca notebook from Vista 32-bit to Windows 7 64-bit

Your notebook supports Windows vista 64bit and hence I believe Win7 64bit should also work fine but there can be compatibility issues with HP drivers and software which may or may not work completely on the notebook.

The drivers and software which goes with your notebook for Vista 64bit is available over here
