Video not working after Windows 7 upgrade

Hello All,

This weekend I received the free Windows 7 Upgrade for my HP dv2z.  I completed the upgrade and have been fairly pleased with the upgrade so far, minus one big issue I have yet to resolve.

Since the upgrade no video will play.  I tried playing multiple videos in Windows Media Player (even the sample video clip that comes preinstalled) and I get an error "Windows Media Player encountered a problem while playing the file."

I also can not play youtube videos.  Anytime I try my CPU usage jumps to 100% and the video shows a couple stills of the video and I sometimes have to "End Task" to get out of my Firefox browser.

Things I have tried:

Updated ATI Radeon mobility 3400 driver

Uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox, Adobe Flash 10 and plugin

None of these things have helped.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

4 GB RAM

64-Bit Windows 7 Home Premium (Upgraded from Vista)

i have the same problem after i receive and upgrade my free windows 7 from HP

i tried serval things but it's useless

i beleived it's better to re- upgrade with clean install not upgrade

if some one have an answer pleased to help

Ghali,

I ended up updating my video card drivers from the HP site after the upgrade and it fixed my issues.  Maybe it will work for you as well.  Good luck!

i do update but still the same

so

i re install the windows 7 but with advance option (not upgrade)

now every thing working good

I  am having the same problem after upgrading my HP HDX 18.

Any answers for us HP?
