Vista downgrade to XP - Dv6748us

[ Edited ]

I've tried installing the drivers from the HP site, the limited ones there are - and following a couple guides i found through google for my model, but all end up without me being able to access the net to get ahold of SP2/3 to install further drivers. My HP Wireless Assistant is constantly deactivated & i can't find any other drivers for my wireless card - my understanding of how to instal drivers is pretty basic also...

My HD died without me making any recovery disks for vista, so i'm stuck with trying to make this work & i can't be bothered/really afford to order the disks - any help would be greatly appreciated =]

Also;

s/n: cnf8046dc6

p/n: kc317ua#aba

not sure what they are for or if they will help ^^

Regards, Liam.

Re: Vista downgrade to XP - Dv6748us

Everything else has gone smoothly & seems to be working fine, except the inbuilt HP webcam, i downloaded both of the drivers from the link Cheryl left for me - and neither seem to work =/ one is obviously not for my make, and the other installed fine but seems to have done nothing >.<

I really need to use it so i can skype etc with my lady, as we live a while apart when she is at university - any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Vista downgrade to XP - Dv6748us

Check your Device Manager to see what is listed for webcam.

You might try this Vista driver which many have used with success in XP:

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp34501-35000/sp34746.exe

Re: Vista downgrade to XP - Dv6748us

the internal microphone works, barely - you practically have to yell at it to get any movement from the sound sensor during the setup =/

are there any other drivers available? or should i just buy a headset?
