Go back to the Conexant driver in Jonah;s guide DRIVERS
Btw,you need your High Definition Audio Driver Package - KB888111 listed in Add/Remove for Conexant Audio driver to work

It seems the toshiba driver wont work in your model.
Please revert beack to the working driver as in Jonah's guide posted by Cheryl.

OK, well, I reverted back to the drivers from Cheryl's guide, and yet again, the sound played for approximately 3-4 minutes, and subsequently cuts out again whilst im playing a game. I haven't restarted yet, but currently the driver is still there and the device is still recognised, yet my system produces no sound what-so-ever.
Is this an IRQ issue or perhaps the chipset itself? should i try reinstalling my chipset drivers or?

Do the sound problem only occurred when you play a game?
Wish I can link you a tool to clean uninstall Conexant driver.

No, its not directly attributed to the game - sometimes it seems the game makes it die faster, but i have left it before to just Skype or play music and it dies in the same way.
I've been uninstalling the driver via device manager, but had left "High Definition Audio Driver Package - KB888111" and then installed the other driver..Im unsure as to what PCI device this disables. Is the driver package installed via the "Microsoft UAA (Universal Audio Architecture) drivers" - If so, should i uninstall everything related to Conextant and then install via the guide provided by cheryl?
Is there a posibility that some corrupted media could cause this?

Yes uninstall conexant driver and install driver made by silver in that guide.
So sorry to give you this trouble, the fastest way to recover every thing is a clean install of XP.
Start from the begining, hopefully you have time for that.
