Re: WinXP drivers needed

You have to have at least XP with SP2 installed for the chipset drivers from Nvidia to work, but that is the first step.  It loaded the OS with no resistance.  Download the drivers from Nvidia directly  I got everything to work, but am still stuck on the Atheros Wi-Fi card and the HD Audio Bus.  Almost there, but still searching for the solutions there.

Re: WinXP drivers needed

Thanks a lot but I already got the LAN driver from NVIDIA and that is working ok.  I too am still trying the wireless, the Coprocessor, the SM BUS Controller and the USB Controllers.  Any suggestion on any of the others.  Thanks again.

Re: WinXP drivers needed

I resolved all problems by buying downloading Driver Detective (cost $29.95).  Cost me but I was not getting anywhere by waiting.  Driver Detective search, download and install the correct drivers for your devices.

If you had searched well in this forum, I'm pretty sure you'll find all of your drivers for free.

For those who has CQ50, CQ60 and CQ70 with AMD processor try the following drivers

_____

Nvidia Chipset,(install and reboot before other drivers), here

NVIDIA GeForce 8200M 178.24 release, here

If its errors, do force instalation as describe below

How to Force Install

Go to device manager and right click unknown vga device, update driver.
Dont have it auto search.
Select dont search, i will choose the driver.
Select Display adapters, choose the have disk button, navigate to the extracted folder and choose nvac.inf

It will give you a list of models, there are 2 geforce 8200's in the list. Click the first one in the list and hit next/ok or whatever.
It will give you the continue anyway option, proceed thru it.

MS-UAA (required with a reboot before Conexant Audio, Nvidia HDMI audio and modem drivers), here

Conexant SmartAudio 221 (fix microphone problem by forum user) here

How to install:

Unzip to a folder.run installer.

if it errors use Device Manager.
From Device Manager, right click "Audio Device on HD",choose Update driver,
No to connect, Install from a list or specific location,

Select Don't Search, I will choose the driver to install,
For the Hardware Type select 'Show All Devices'
Remove the check from "Show Compatible Hardware" and click on "Have Disk".
Next...browse to the unzipped folder and choose the "WiSVHe5.inf".
Ignore XP when it complains.
Reboot.

Nvidia HDMI audio, here

Conexant HDAUDIO Soft Data Fax Modem with SmartCP Driver, here

If you had Atheros Wireless driver, here

or if it does not work try here

If you had Broadcom Wireless, here

Ricoh 5-1 Card reader, here

Synaptics Touchpad Driver, here

.Net Framework(required before HP Quick Launch Buttons), here

 HP Quick Lauch Buttons, here

If you had Bluetooth, here

If you had for 7 unknown devices (buttons drivers), here

Do manual installation

Go to device manager, right click unknown device,

Choose to update driver, No to connect,

Choose install from a list or specific location, Don't search, Have disk,

Browse to the location of machine.inf.

Do it for the rest of unknown devices
