I have installed Windows 7 home premium 64 bit on my DV9653CL notebook computer. It is a DV9500 series notebook.
I am looking for Windows 7 64 bit drivers for the Nvidia Geforce 8600M GS video card and wonder if there are any other drivers I need to update since it was originally a 32 bit machine? .
I upgraded from Vista 32 bit.
Thank you,
Clay

Hi,
For graphic You may try to use HP Vista x64 drivers for Your model:
NVIDIA GeForce Series video here
When there will be some kind of problems with installation then try to run it in Vista compatibility mode.
Resources:

Make older programs run in this version of Windows
You may also try to install Nvidia original drivers from here.
If there will be problem with installing Nvidia original file then use moded Nvidia drivers ver 186.81.
How to install them under Win7:
1. Download driver here, double click and select extract,
2. Download from this site with drivers also INF Modified and replace original INF in extracted folder,
3. Install & reboot.
When even this will not work great on Your model then run Windows Update.

CAUTION!
Before You will install any new driver for graphic be sure that You first uninstalled older one.
The best way to do it:
Run system in safe mode (on boot press F8 and choose safe mode) and uninstall graphic driver.
Then run system in normal mode and install new driver.

Hi Daniel,
Thank you for the advice.
The HP Vista driver would not install it said this is not vista and quit.
I installed the Nvida driver from Nvida for the 8600M GS, yet I no longer have 1900x1200 resolution available. I like 1900x1200 for the w2408 1080P HP display. any ideas how to get the nice Nvida control panel that came with the notebook from HP that allowed 1900x1200 resolution?
The driver update enabled the HDMI output so that is nice.
Any other drivers that you know I should update since I went from 32bit vista to 64 bit win 7?
The computer is running very fast.. Yea!
my product is DV9653CL

NVIDIA driver installed the Control Panel. Should see it on your program list under NVIDIA tag. As to 1900 X 1200 another lister said he installed the config s/w for his HP monitor for dual monitor like yours w/ 1080p, and it showed up with the above res. I want to run HDMI on a 1080i HDTV but don't know how to do that.
