Windows 7 Upgrade Guide for dv6000/dv9000 models

Hello!
I have any question to ask you.
I have laptop hp Pavillion DV9000
I change new fan and then new Hard drive but When I setup new window it not working.
I show only Starting windows.
I need you help me. What can I do to it work good?
Because if I have new window it fine but when I restart or turn off. It can't log on windows.

Upgraded Vista from XP a number of years back.  Vista went into the "0 of 3 update loop" out of the blue and I could neither recover (F11, etc.) nor could I find a Vista recovery disk. 

So, I blasted Vista and the recovery partition and reinstalled XP.  XP seems to be running ok although I've seen the laptop shut down on it's own a couple of times...may be batter related but it is generally plugged in AC all the time now.

Primary use now is for the kids to play kid games and surf a bit (keep them off of my PC), so not a big deal, but if I wanted to upgrade a dv9000t to WIndows 7:

1.  Can I upgrade the RAM to 4GB (2 x 2GB)? 

2.  If I upgrade to an SSD, is there a max size limit it would work with? 

3.  I have 2 x HDD's in now...would I need a bracket kit for the SSD?

4.  Do I need to update the BIOS for any of the above?

5.  Can the components handle/run on 64-bit Windows 7? I'd like to go 64-bit for when this lappy dies...I can re-use that OS on a PC or other laptop.

Specs:  T5200 @160GHz w/ an nV Go 7600, 2GB RAM

I did a clean install of Windows 7. Evereything works fine except the Ethernetcontroller. 

When I connect it to my LAN the Notebook gets the IP: 169.254.131.67 and the subnet 255.255.0.0 no gateway an no DNS. 

The network is displayed as an unidentified network. 

In the devicemanager it is displayed as NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller. 

Any ideas to fix that error?

You need to install correct chipset driver.

I think I did.

I used this one:

For dv65xx, dv66xx, dv67xx, dv68xx, dv69xx, dv95xx, dv96xx, dv97xx, dv98xx and dv99xx models (example: dv6981tu means that your model is dv69xx, dv9721tu means that your model is dv97xx):

nVidia Chipset (Install and reboot before other drivers) here   (Vista)

Here's the P/N: KA057EA#ABD

Or is this the wrong driver? Can I just deinstall the current driver and install the other one?

hello, i have a dv9062ea and i followed your guide to upgrade to win 7 ultimate succesfully.the only thing that doesn t work is the onboard 1.3 mp camera.it shows up in the device manager as  unknown device.any suggestions will be apriciated.

Hi,

Right click it and choose Update driver software.

System should able to find automatically correct driver.

Control Panel -> Device Manager

Right click each device with yellow exclamation mark ( ) and choose ' Properties '. Next select ' Details ' tab and paste in you next reply Hardware Ids .
