Does HP plan on releasing drivers for this laptop?
My Laptop Config:
Model: DV2000T
CPU: Intel T2500 CPU 2.0GHz
RAM: 2.00GB (2x 1GB)
HDD: 80GB
Graphics: NVidia GeForce GO 7200
Webcam/Mic
I have Windows 7 Professional Installed, and here are the issues I have.
While the Display drivers will work, anything Using DirectX/OpenGL is laggy and slow (driver is not 100% compatible) and crashes and recovers very frequently. If you maximize a video playing in Windows Media Player to full screen, the laptop will crash (display = black, whilst the sound continues). Games which used to run smooth on Windows Vista, all of a sudden has very low fps rates.
The Sound will work only on boot, if you hibernate/suspend the Laptop, and turn it back on, Sound no longer works.
Plugging a headphone into the Jacks does not mute the sound coming from the system speakers.
Audio controls does not work, sounds tend to each have its own "volume" settings, even though the main system volume is set very low, if you bring up Windows Media Player, the music will still be loud as heck.
The QuickLaunch buttons will not work properly.
Please can someone from HP shed some light on this issue, as I do not want to "activate" and waste my license on this laptop if drivers to fix the above mentioned issues are not being worked on/released.
Thanks a lot!
NOTE TO HP: THIS LAPTOP WORKS FINE WITH WINDOWS 7! PLEASE WORK ON DRIVERS! (It outperforms Netbooks!)

nycbubba2,
HP will not support the dv2000t model with Windows 7. There may be drivers available that resolve these problems though. nVidia has released a Windows 7 mobile driver for example.

Oh well, I guess it's time to roll back to Windows Vista. I'm not about to buy another laptop just to use Windows 7. The hardware on this laptop definately can support Windows 7 just fine, it's a shame that HP doesn't provide drivers for it's older generation, but functional laptops.
I wonder what the deal is with their drivers, since it was the exact same issue When I had to upgrade this from Windows XP to Windows Vista, the same 3 drivers always has an issue.
On a side note, I had a chat transcript with an HP support specialist, and they told me that the DV2000t should be supported with a Windows 7 Driver, and now you are saying it's not.. I'm confused at the moment.

nycbubba2,
Unfortunately the chat support was not accurate. The list of supported models is on this page:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docnam
The dv2 listed in the table refers to dv2-xxxx models, not the dv2xxx model you are looking for.
