Windows 7 question

I got a Windows 7 laptop - had an XP..  This may sound silly but I am unable to maximize the screen after I minimize it.  It

seems to disappear under the start button and I can not retrieve it.  Please help.  Reagent

When you minimize a window it should be in the task bar so you can maximize it. Your task bar may be on autohide. Move your cursor to the bottom of the screen and see if it appears. Also try the other edge's of the screen. Somehow the task bar may have been moved to another position and/or put on autohide.
