Hello,
I just installed Windows 7(32bit) and now my main cooling fan does not spin at all. I checked the power settings and it's set to "active"cooling and it's still not working. I also installed the latest video drivers from Nvidia with no change. My CPU temps are way too HOT (175F)... Any Ideas?
thanks.

I can't help, but I wonder if this is my situation too. I didn't use my dv9310us much for a few months due to some major issues. I installed a custom/clean install onto a new HDD of 7 Ultimate. My fan hasn't kicked on that I can remember. However, it didn't surprise me as I didn't see my CPU usage going over 30% when I've checked stuff.
How do I test the CPU temp? I'm interested in the outcome of this one.

Well, my fan is working. I lifted the computer and could hear it and feel it, but it is quieter than before.
I downloaded that software and it lists temp in celsius. According to that, I'm at 53 cel, or 127 farenheit on the CPU, and 84 cel or 187 on the gpu. But this software can't find the fan.
It is working. I can feel/hear it. It is low. It would be nice to be able to turn it up.
Anyone have any solutions for that issue?

The Fan Started spinning after a good blast with Compressed air... What timing! What are the odds of my fan getting stuck during a OS upgrade!

I'm glad it's resolved.
I wish that monitoring software could find my fan though. It'd be nice to know how it is performing.

There is a tool that actually works at displaying temperatures called HWMonitor. A free version and one with pretty charts.
