Windows Update-Unable to get a list of devices-please try again later

Hello

 

I purchased a used Pavillon Dv6000 s/n 3cf7507znz. I did the Hp product anaylis and it gave me the same sn and pn at the back of my computer, but it said  Pavillion DV6775u5 Entertainment.

 

I am trying to  to add an older printer. Windows Update-Unable  to get a list of devices-please try again later.

I kept getting the message.

 

I did the recover disk and kept getting the message. It is a legal version of Windows 7. I conacted Microsoft and they said I have to go through HP

I need help how to resolve this problem.

Hi,

 

Probably your printer is no longer supported from BOTH HP and Microsoft under Windows 7. Option: downgrade the operating system (not recommended) or buy a new printer.

Could you please clarify which printer is it?

Additionally, are you using Windows7 32 or 64bit ?
