Just wanted to post and say thanks for the guide.  I am dual booting xp and 7 because I a lot of the software that I need for school is older and is compatible with XP.

 

Anyway, the guide helped me almost to perfection, the only strange thing is that the headphone port does not work in XP.  If I plug in headphones, it mutes the speaker icon , and I cannot hear anything on the headhones or the laptop.

 

Strange, any thoughs?

Hi,

I'm glad then this guide gave You some good advice. 

 

About audio issue:

You may try Win7 audio driver. I think then it may work in this system too. I proposed this driver to one user and I think then it's working cause he gave me kudos and didn't reply back abut any problems.

 

IDT audio here

 

Before installing this driver uninstall first old audio driver. :smileyhappy:

 

If this will not work go back to this driver which worked for You.

Here you got all drivers for your dv3-2299eo ( dv3 2299 eo )hp pavillion.

The drivers are all tested by me. I've made and uploaded this archive to facilitate downgrade process of your newer hp pavillion notebook
