I have a HP Compaq 6735s and recently Dual booted XP and 7.
I have the AMD 64bit processor and found the fix to the blue screen an easy fix. Here is what you need to do if you have and AMD processor and wish to downgrade to XP.
First you will need to slipstream an xp cd with the correct driver. You will need to download nLite to do this Download it Here
Next download the driver for AMD processors found Here and now extract the file.
Using nLite follow the directions in THIS pdf to make your bootable CD.
Once you have your CD boot from it and be AMAZED that you no longer see the 0x0000007b error!
If you wish to dual boot note that you will need to download Easy BCD AND .NET 2.0
Install .NET 2.0 from Here first, then install nLite.
