I assume that nobody bothered to even read the link I posted ( first reply to this post) with suggestion to copy your C:\SwSetup with original drivers to use for Updating unknown hardware? ![]()

You are a Genius !!!!!!!
First things first: I shall apologize, cuz I must admit I never paid attention to your post.
That won't happen again.
Now the story: I downloaded the DV5t's Vista32 audio driver and installed it.
Apparently nothing happened, cuz I still have the same pair of question marks on the Device Manager, both of 'em related to Audio issues, as usual.
But guess what???? .... Headphone jack is ALIVE and Kickin' !!!!
Yeah, now I can use my headphones, heavy professional studio headphones, and they perform like a charm.
Thank you so much, I really appreciate the time you take on this threads and your help.
Live long and prosper, my friend.

Nope.
I read CheryIG's thread about how the drivers of the DV5t could help, due to the fact that this model is my DV6's "little brother".
So I made it simple: I downloaded the DV5t 1100 CTO's audio driver for VISTA32 (sp41698.exe) and installed it (I never removed or uninstalled the previous ones, the sp33867.exe, the sp41693 and the sp39671.exe).
Probably a "mixture" of those 4 drivers made the phone jack come to life... who knows.
That's it.
The question marks still remain, but the Headphone jack is totally functional.

Hi Daniel.
I downloaded the DV5t 1100 CTO's audio driver for VISTA32 (sp41698.exe) and installed it (I never removed or uninstalled the previous one the sp41693
and voila the Headphone jack works, BUt the Mute button is always RED, it never goes BLUE, though the mute functionality is working but light remains red
One Yellow ? left for
on Intel(R) ICH9M LPC Interface Controller - 2919
ACPI\ENE0100\4&B310638&0
And windows update did fix that Yellow ? for high def audio.
Thanks all.
I am gonna format my laptop again tonight , and do a clean install, since i have totally messed up my pc. i downloaded every other audio realtec to cmedia.
What seems to help is Dv5t driver for audio.
