any fix for the conexant audio device,,, no device found.

I have a hp 6500

with windows vista home. i have the red x on my speaker. I have went onto the forums and i see that they all have the same thing.

I  have done everything for system recovery, update drivers ete. And notting , what do we have to do, GOTO APPLE.

Plz need a fix. or will a new sound card work.

Have you checked in Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Services to be sure Windows Audio service is running?

 

I think a bad cable is often the culprit in the audio issue. The videos below are not the best, but quickest I could find.I certainly would not recommend changing the cable with the laptop on as in the 2nd video!
