Do you have a home network?
The simplest way to load programs is via a network as in wired or wireless. The better of the two is by wirel lan connection. There are less problems transferring large files.
You can share a DVD drive on a desktop in your network and it will behave as if it were conneced to the netbook.
Alternatively, on the desktop an image of your desired install program can be uitized as a virtual DVD/CD drive when shared on the network. One program that make this easy to do is magicdisc when the install CD/DVD is made into an image and mounted in a shared virtual DVD/CD drive. There are other programs that will provide the same functionality needed to perform a task of this nature. MagicISO and PowerISO are just examples.
