hi!
i own a HP Pavilion dv5 1235dx having the following config:- vista64-bit; 4GB Ram; 320GB HDD
i received my notebook with the HDD partitioned into 4 drives,(one containing the recovery files)
my problem is that, i am unable to use the method specified on of the posts in this forum...(apc mag)
moreover i haven't made any recovery drives for vista.
the XP SP2 drive cannot be read during the boot, i have selected the boot pref as CD/DVD
someone pl. help me.

Hi ash_1988, foryour requirement of XP + Vista Dual Boot, you must install in sequese:
1) Windows XP
2) Windows Vista
If Vista install first, you will not able boot correctly, unless using 3rd party bootable software.

hi calvin,
thanks for replying... but there is another problem to ur solution. Vista was pre-loaded on my notebook. and i havn't yet made a vista recovery disk. the HP copy of vista is stored on my HDD.
can i uninstall Vista and then load XP? but doing so how will i install vista again for dual boot through my HDD..
pl. help me wit it.
