dv2810us, Windows 7 and sound card driver

Hello,

I've a Pavilion dv2810us notebook and upgraded from Windows Vista to Windows 7 Ultimate. Everything works great, except for one thing: the volume of my microphone is too low, no matter what I do with the settings.

Is this a driver problem? If not, has anybody found a solution? Will there be updated drivers for this?

It's really bothering me because I use the mic to chat...

Re: dv2810us, Windows 7 and sound card driver

I feel it is a driver problem. Here is the audio driver compatible with Windows 7:

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp45001-45500/sp45166.exe

I am an HP employee.

Re: dv2810us, Windows 7 and sound card driver

Do the mic working fine while in Vista?

Try installing Vista driver, please remember to uninstall the current audio driver and reboot before installing the new one.

Re: dv2810us, Windows 7 and sound card driver

Hi guys

I have an interest in this issue since I also have the dv2810us and am planning to upgrade to Win 7 next week...may be needing the Conexant driver depending on results with my current (Vista) driver. I don't have latest Vista driver installed which is posted for this model because it fails_it is not the correct driver!

Actually my mic is too low already to use in Vista,so am  wondering if original poster had good mic performance in Vista?

My mic worked well on Vista.

I'll try uninstalling and reinstalling and let you know how it goes.

Re: dv2810us, Windows 7 and sound card driver

I managed to update the driver, but now Windows 7 doesn't seem to detect my headphones (and microphone). I can hear using them, but when I go to "manage audio devices" in the control panel I just get the speakers and a "SPDIF Interface" (what's that?). No trace of the headphones...

Re: dv2810us, Windows 7 and sound card driver

The latest driver posted on dv2810us page is the wrong driver_it will always fail even in Vista!

Try this:

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp38501-39000/sp38906.exe
