did anyone get this driver to work and how is windows 7 on this laptop is it worth the upgrade?  This is my daughters laptop and she has a disease called SMA II she has weak muscles and the main thing she uses is the text to speech and to talk to our family members overseas with skype but she likes the windows 7 features on my new laptop thanks

I run Windows 7 Professional now on my DV2810US and it runs great.Of course I never really had the problems with Vista that many have had. My mic does not work well enough to use in any IM app, but  it didn't in Vista either.The only flaw in mine has been the weak mic performance.

The original poster never confirmed if he got the mic working on his.He stated that it worked fine in Vista..not in Win 7.

On my Dv2810 I went into Control Panel and ran Windows Update manually.Choose to also see Optional updates.The Conexant Audio should be there to select.

if you're still having trouble you can try the following link and try the conexant dirvers from the conexant support page http://www.conexant.com/products/entry.jsp?id=651 trial and error type but one of them may work
