gobackto Factory settings

Hi,

I've HP Pavilion dv6t 1200 laptop. Visa was preinstalled with this laptop and then two years ago i've upgraded it to windows 7. Three days ago, system updated with recent windows update, from then it is not booting. it's keep going with 'Windows Failed to start' error and started going for system startup repair loop indefinitely.

i tried with system image recovery, restore, startup repair, NONE of them working..

Product: HP Pavilion DV6 Model:dv6t 1200 ; OS: Vista preinstalled and then upgraded to windows 7, so currently using windows 7.

It will be great if anyone can help me to fix this problem. So what is the procedure to goback to factory settings. SHould i need to goback to Vista or windows 7.

Re: gobackto Factory settings

Since it was an upgrade, you will have to use the HP recovery discs for Vista to get the OS reinstalled, then upgrade again to 7. This will however delete all your files permanently.

You might try what is suggested on this page to solve it.

Re: gobackto Factory settings

honestly youre better off using a  usb HDD tool to  grab whatever you need off your HDD and reload windows 7. would be way quicker than easier than reloading twice.    do you happen to know what updates it installed? was it optional updates? while the hdd is out may want to check for disk errors as well
