Re: how do i fix this?

Well im id say the problem is with norton, in the past i have used norton and it is the worst reasource/memory hog and terrible in a system.

2 im assuming Vista is blocking proctected core system files from norton.

Re: how do i fix this?

Do you have system restore disabled? You may want to enable it if it's disabled.

As for Norton, they were once known for being incredibly bloated with the AV software, but starting with version 2008 or 2009, they really cleaned up, so I wouldn't automatically assume this is a Norton issue.

Re: how do i fix this?

It's not really a problem (unless you want it to be).  Don't run the registry cleaner.
