how to get rid of claro search

HP Pavillion g6 Notebook PC Windows 7 -- accidentally downloaded CLARO SEARCH have removed toolbars and programs, but CLARO SEARCH still appears in Internet Explorer settings as DEFAULT search engine noted 6 in order on the list. Can not hit remove it is "greyed out" Ran Microsoft recommendedsecurity scan showed no problems did both quick scan and full system scan. Uninstalled GOOGLE CHROME reset to default search engine. Have restarted computer each time, still can not remove CLARO SEARCH from list as default search engine in internet tools. When using interenet CLARO SEARCH TOOLBAR no longer appears. Presently Norton Security expired, do not want to purchase new one while spyware is showing on computer, not comfortable giving out info over internet.

Have you looked in the Control Panel (icon view) > Programs and Features list?

Sometimes they are nice and allow you to uninstall there.

First you must change the default search engine to something else, then remove will become available.

To change it go to Gear icon on upper right of IE > Manage Add-ons > Search Providers
