Hi,
Unless you have already done so, make sure to install the Chipset driver on the following link.
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp52001-52500/sp5235
After this installation has completed, restart the notebook.
HP now provides a version of Cyberlinks PowerDVD 10 which seems to be a better solution than MediaSmart ( also a Cyberlink program ). Download the latest installer for this on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp56501-57000/sp5690
When the download has completed, open windows Control Panel, open Programs and Features, right click the entry for HP MediaSmart DVD and select Uninstall - when this process has completed, restart the notebook again.
When windows has reloaded, open your Downloads folder and double-click the installer for PowerDVD 10 to start the installation. When this has completed, see if your Blu ray disc now plays OK.
Regards,
DP-K

Hi,
You're welcome ![]()
There is a commercial version of PowerDVD 12, however this will require you to purchase the software after the trial period has expired. The version on PowerDVD10 I linked to is customised for HP and is free ( no trial period ) - in my opinion, there's no real need to purchase the updated version unless it has extra options you require.
