hp pavilion dv1000 will not boot

2006 HP pavilion dv100 (dv1657cl)

It will not boot only black screen.

I can hit f10 and save and exit; but still nothing.

I tested the hard drive and it passed.

I've been informed that it will not post.

Problem started with a virus.

what should I do?  It has been suggested that even if I had a recovery disk it may not work.  I do not have a recovry disk.

any and all suggestions would be appreciated.

if ur problrm is booting try reparing the boot loader with os disk..or perform a clean install with the recovery disks
