I have recently bought this laptop (hp dv6-3100 se i5-aluminium-fingerprint version). I was told on buying that it supports hp quickweb. i have tried to locate it, but to my disappointment could not find it.
Is there any other way to install or use this program. I was very much interested in using this feature.
Please advice.

Enter BIOS and find QuickWeb setting to activate it, see how to use it here

Please post your product number see at the bottom of your notebook.
Since your notebook is new, why not calling HP direcly? you still have 90 days software warranty.
Post also your BIOS version, press fn+esc, post BIOS (configuration) result.

Hi. I also have the same issue. My model number is WQ678UA#ABA and my BIOS version is F.13 - 09/14/2010 ( 058A110000242B10010020100 ).
Can someone please help me with this? Thanks!!!
It also made the 2GB partition called hp_tools for me too. And it has a folder called QuickWeb inside. I dont know why it wont load at startup.

It seems that not all dv6-3000 series equipped with QuickWeb feature.
For AMD platform, even for dv6 with high end AMD processor, N830, HP there is no QuickWeb feature, see here
I'm guessing QuickWeb still have difficulties to be installed in AMD platform.
So sorry, without quickweb option in BIOS, there is no way to install it.

Look here: http://www.amazon.com/HP-Pavilion-dv6-3010us-15-6-
EDIT: What do you mean AMD processors dont have it? Look at the bottom of your link. It says :Internet solutions: QuickWeb!

I saw the link and indeed it says QuickWeb, go call HP and state in HP browser, quickweb is listed as one of the shipped software from HP. Please post again to help others.
PS: AMD and Intel have different ACHI setting. For AMD platform maybe Splashtop has compatibility issue or maybe its simply budget constraint.

Try to reinstall HP Quickweb from HP Recovery manager. Then Go to Start menu and in search box type "HP Quickweb". Open HP Quickweb utility and there is an option to Enable Quickweb in settings. Also ensure, your BIOS is updated to latest version on the notebook.
