Hi Riz,
You can fix that broken Hotmail Webcard.
Fix a Broken Webcard
Note that there are a lot of "Open SimplePass" and "Close SimplePass" steps. You may get away with fewer openings and closings of the program. Try it. If it doesn't work, open and close the program where shown (after a computer reboot to clear everything out).
Webcard Reset:
- Open SimplePass
- Click the little Grid Box in the Lower Right corner (looks like a box with window panes in it). This opens the Grid View and provides a "List" of your webcards.
- Scroll down and Look for that webcard - It may be in Category "Private" if you created the webcard manually, else it may be in Category "Social".
Comments:
You might be able to "Reset" the card (login) so that it works again.
When you find it,
- Click Edit to open the webcard.
- If the box "Enable Website Log On" is UNchecked, CHECK it and Click Save
- Close SimplePass and try that website
Else
- IF the box "Enable Website Log on" IS (already) checked, UNcheck it and Click Save
Why UNCHECK the box if it's already checked when you open the webcard?
We want to fix the broken webcard and we need to reset it.
IF you had to UNcheck the box,
THEN:
- Close SimplePass (Use the X in the upper right corner)
- Close everything else (email, websites, games)
- Restart (Or Shut down and Reboot), and then Log in
- Open SimplePass,
- Find that webcard
- Open for Edit
- CHECK the "Enable Website Log On" and Save
- Close SimplePass and try the website
IF the Reset fails, then it's time to hit it harder...
Add the missing webcard for the account manually:
- Open SimplePass
- Find that webcard and Delete it
- Close SimplePass
Take a breath...
- Open your Browser (for example, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome...)
- Go to that website so you can get a hold of the URL (the http address of the site)
- Open SimplePass (again)
- Click the "+" sign.
- Copy / Paste -- Add the URL (webpage address), give it a name.
- If you have one, assign a nice icon to the webpage. (Ask me about creating personalized icons, if you would like...)
- Close SimplePass
- Close the Browser, wait a few seconds, and then reopen it
- Open the URL for your “missing webcard” (Go to the website), log in - it should ask if you want to save the password.
If that fails to bring joy:
If it still doesn't like it, Open SimplePass, open that new webcard that you created and hand edit the login information (Password and Userid) into the webcard and save it.
Make a Backup!
Once you get this working, be sure to EXPORT your webcards so you have a backup of your SimplePass password database. Export is under the Settings "wheel".

I hope this helps solve the problem.

I am also having similar problems with Simple Pass. It will open the website, but it won't enter my login information. I have tried completely deleting the cards and creating new ones, and that still didn't work. I read your steps, and when I go to edit the card, there is nothing that says Enable Website Log On. What else can I do?

Hi Lily,
I will try to help. Since you have tried to solve the issue and it's "sticky", I will need some more information to try and solve the problem.
- What Version of SimplePass are you using?
- What is your Operating System? Windows 7 32 or 64bit? or?
- Which browser are you using?
- Can you give me a example of a Website that is giving you this problem?
- Is is every webcard or just one or two websites that have this problem?
- What is your computer product number? (NOT serial number?)
Locate the Notebook Product Number
Thanks.

i opened simplepass and there was no grid box for my to click? i couldnt do step 2 because there was nothing in the bottom right corner, or any corners infact. what do i do? i was thinkingof taking my laptop into a pro to get it fixed but im scared itll cost a lot of money so if i could fix this slight problem myself tht would be handy. i am having the same problem, the hp simplepass wont open when i go onto facebook and i cant even swip my finger at all except for when i am logging into my desktop.
