i am not able to install windows xp on my laptop(presario c784tu),my processor is intel pentium.

i am unable to install windows xp on my laptop, my processor is intel pentium dual core, i am able to inatall windows 7, but i cant install xp. when i tried to install xp, the xp os is failed because the hard drive is not detected. please help me in resolving this issue.

You need sata drivers slipstreamed into the XP install cd

 

here are the XP sata drivers,

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-56416-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&...

 

dowload the package to an empty folder, then use winzip or 7-zip to extract the contents of the exe file to the same folder, the drivers you need will be in the Files/32 folder.

 

Use nlite to slipstream the driver files into the XP install cd, it shoul find the hard drive now.

unfortunately you might not be able to find some of the other drivers you need for XP.
