my cursor seems to have a mind of its own.

It continually selects and pulls up elements of web pages, and scrolls through files all by itself  (I.e.:  while scrolling through photo files, it will just take off and scroll through dozens of photos without my telling it to.

When I contacted  customer service about this problem a couple of months ago, they updated the bios.  Now things seem to be even worse, all though it did not happen immediately after the update.

I have also recently installed a mouse, and it is even worse with that.

I am running Windows 7  home premium on a Pavilion g6 notebook.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

What are you using for anti-virus/adware/spyware protection? Have you run a full scan lately?  Try a free online scan at housecall.trendmicro.com and read carefully so you load the free scan. The top of the page is to try to get you to buy the product.  Just before you hit the scan button, click on options and check a full scan, then hit the scan button.  You may also just have a stuck key.  Try gently running your hand over the keyboard and especially the arrow keys and the page up and down.

Re: my cursor seems to have a mind of its own.

I am using Windows Security Software and Kaspersky Pure.  I have run a scan, and did as you suggested , I used the Trend Micro scan and it showed no problems.   The keys don't seem to be the problem either.

Thanks for your suggestions.
