I have a HP 8440P that is missing a couple of drivers, this is all new to me so please be gentle with the directions as I am a begginer in the computer set up world.
I also have to drivers missing that say unknown device, how to I find out what they might be? Thank you

Please provide the Device Instance ID from Device Manager to suggest the appropriate drivers:
- Open Device Manager from”¦
- In the Run box type devmgmt.msc.
- In the Run box type devmgmt.msc.
- Unknown devices would be listed as such and marked out with a yellow question mark.

- Select the unknown device and right click to access Properties.
- In the Properties window click on Details tab and select Device Instance Id or Hardware ID from the drop down.

- An alphanumeric string like this PCI\VEN_1217&DEV_7130&SUBSYS_012F1025&REV_01\4&6B1
6D5B&0&33F0 is the identification marker for the device.
Please provide this information.

the other one is a base system code 28, that is all it has. Thank you again

thank you again for your help with this, I would like to ask you another question if I may. I can not seem to set up the finger reader, do you have any suggestions?

I tried this but I can not find the verisign reader file as the instructions say to do. Thank you and i know I am now in the wrong area but you seem to knwo what is up and i appreciate it.

cool, I got the windows 7 64 bit downloaded, is there a file on how to set the finger scanner up?
