ok update xp with sp3 pro now installed

BUT cannot find the drivers for xp for this model any help?

hi paul have read the downgrade have all drivers in and working but guess what still no webcam driver

so to me it looks like there is no webcam driver available for my hp laptop for xp/vista/win7 but here must be because it was working ok with the factory image before on vista so i dont understand why hp dosent list the driver on the website ,

it just dosent make sense???????

I don't know what to tell you except to experiment.

Start with these and keep trying some until either it works or you run out of drivers...

have tried all those links but nothing doing,

im gonna reformat back to vista and start all over again

i only have 2 hdds so will leave win7 ultimate on one and put vista ultimate on the other then see if i can fix the problems

if anything crops up webcam driver wise for my model please post ,

You may be able to order recovery media from HP, see:

Or if you just want to find driver for it (I am not sure it has Windows 7 drivers, as the notebook is not officially Windows 7 supported). Since you do have a "unknown device" in device manager, what is the hardware ids? (ritght mouse and select properties, in Details tab, "Hardware Ids" in Properties drop down, get the VID_ and PID_ values,

ok charles i have reinstalled vista business with sp2

all other drivers are in and working,

in device manager under universal serial bus controllers i have the unknown device

when i right click then propertiesdetails tag hardware id it just says USB/UNKNOWN

ok so i took the front panel off of the screen and the webcam make is sonix

my webcam model is sonix SN9C260 so i found there website here.

which gives a list of webcam controllers but my model dosent seem to be listed and i cannot find anywhere,

any ideas anyone ?

Hi can noone still help for drivers for a sonix SN9C260 webcam that is fitted to a presario c740em???
