Re: recovery Partition

Hi,

A useful utility for viewing all the files on your PC is called Free Commander, on the link below, as it displays folders that the Operating System normally hides and has a good search function.

http://www.snapfiles.com/php/download.php?id=107872&a=7122339&tag=601108&loc=10

This is a zipped file.  If you don't have an extraction utility installed, download and install 7-Zip which can be used to open this so that you can run the installer.

When installed, run the program and look at the Recovery partition and see if you can locate a folder that obviously relates to Nero - if you see this, cut it out of this partition.

Have you created your set of Recovery Discs?

Regards,

Re: recovery Partition

Hi,

In my experience, you're unlikely to be able to get the recovery partition working again this way.  However, if you reinstalled the operating system using your Recovery Discs, this would also re-create the Recovery Partition on your HDD - obviously, if you decide on doing this, make sure that you back up all your files etc first.

Re: Recovery Partition

[ Edited ]

yeah its was exported by a nero autobackup software when i first installed my external drive to my laptop...mayby i accidentally turned it on...i was shocked that it is my recovery partition that it was exporting so i immedietly canceled the exporting session, after that...i checked my partition d: by opening it and noticed that the icon was change from a drive icon to a folder icon..and also the size of the partitions shows that it was a 16 GB but when i tried to open the d: partitions it has only a FOLDER having a 255MB size...why is that....?

it was not exported completely but after  that accident the only lteft in the Partition D: was a single Folder that is empty but having the size 255MB..

Re: Recovery Partition

ummmm

the icon doesn't matter...

some programs changes the file icons... thts not a problem

try this...

click on tools (at the top of the window)

folder options...

view tab

select "show hidden items"

click ok..

now check if you can see any recovery image in D drive???
