recovery question

this is my first time posting,

                                      Anyway my recovery partiotion is missing/nonexistant on my compaq presario v6000 and i cannot find the recovery discs.Is there a way to redownload the partition to the hardrive it came with

I think it would be best just to order the recovery disks from hp.

I am also facing problems with my recovery manager in my new DV5-1200se. Whenever I run it, and it finally moves on to copying the stuff on dvd's, it makes one dvd, verifies it and then gives the error that DVD is cannot be made. I have wasted a whole bundle of DVDs with no use. Everytime it just copies the 1st of the 3 DVDs and then gives the same error. Is there any way around it? How do I make my set of recovery disks?
