I am trying to transfer a large 7.3 gb avhcd video file from my hp7 laptop to either an usb memory stick or usb hdd.Despite trying various devices and having more than enough spare memory 450gb! when I try to move the file I get an error message saying that the file is too large to move.I can move the file internally on the pc.I am using windows 7 and have successfully moved 4gb files to usb stick.

Hi John,
This may well be because your USB stick and the external HDD are formatted in FAT32 - Try the following.
First of all, make sure that there are no important files on the USB stick as the next process will erase them.
Insert the USB stick into your PC, cancel any Autoplay window, click the Start Menu, open Computer, left click on the USB stick once to highlight it and then right click and select Format. Under File System, select NTFS in the dropdown box and then click Start.
When this has completed, see if you can now copy the 7.3Gb file to the USB stick.
Regards,
DP-K
