Try giong to Logitech support and using the automatic device recognition utility or choosing your product with model number. Download Logitech's software and install it. Laser mice do come with their own issues. I  had an OCZ Eclise mouse die on me yesteday. The laser died. Everything else on it still works. It is a shame because I really liked it. Thankfully I have an OCZ Behemoth laser mouse handy for a replacement.

You should contact Logitech about the issue if installing the software doesn't help.

Kind regards,
erico

I does help if you remember to tell me the important bits . :smileywink:

Is this issue with all of the USB ports on the notebook?

Is you notebook still within the one year standard warranty period?

Does the USB 2.0 memory card reader work?

regards,

erico

Re: usb device not recognized (mouse)

Have you tried the Microsoft Fixit for hardware issues related to software?

Re: usb device not recognized (mouse)

Please let me know how this goes.  I have basically the same issue.  Here it is:

I've been using an wireless/bluetooth HP optical mouse for a couple of years.  Today it stopped working even though the battery is fine, and I started getting error messages about "USB device not recognized."  I tried to change USB ports and the other two act like they're completely dead.  I've tried the ports with another mouse or two and same thing -- the one port gives the "USB device not recognized" error, and the other two have NO activity.

I've tried using device manager to uninstall all USB port drivers, no good.  I tried to re-install the mouse driver, no good.  All I can think is that when the issue started, I had just been transferring files from my HTC Thunderbolt (cell phone) to the laptop through the USB cable.  That worked fine, but shortly after I started having this issue, so I assume I've scrambled my USB ports somehow.  HELP!

Hello, its me again!

i fix my problem!

joshtmcc, of course!

i found in internet this manual and translate it on english language:

The solution of the current problems is surprisingly simple -  If such a problem has arisen on a laptop - to turn it off, then disconnect from the grid, ie unplug the charger. Next, pull the battery, wait several minutes, then insert the battery and turn on the notebook without connecting it to the charger, ie run it on battery.

this original message on rus language, maybe u'll find better translator:

Решение сложившейся проблемы на удивление простое – в случае, если подобная проблема возникла на ноутбуке – необходимо выключить его, затем отключить от энергосети, т.е. отсоединить зарядное устройство. Далее необходимо вытащить батарею, подождать также несколько минут, затем вставить батарею и включить ноутбук, не подключая к нему зарядное устройство, т.е. запустить его на батарее.

hope u'll fix ur problems!

good luck!
