warning for full performance connect to a higher capacity charger

I am constantly getting this message in the lower right corner of the screen of my HP laptop. Sometimes the same message stacks up three high. This is annoying. It just started in the past 3 months.  Can anything be done about this? My computer is operating normally. I've put it on power saver to no avail.

Did you change your AC adapter? Usually this message shows up when you need for example a 90W AC adapter but you are using a 65W adapter instead.

Re: warning for full performance connect to a higher capacity charger

No, I'm using the same charger that came with the laptop.  The computer is a few years old, so I'm beginning to wonder if battery capacity has gone down and triggered something.  OTOH, I've read online that some people have replaced the battery and still had the same problem.

Still open to ideas--or to find out that HP has addressed this problem.

Thanks in advance!
