Hi Evo,
You may need to try again.. Or the software may have downloaded and need to be reset?
Here are some things to try / consider:
CherylG has provided a YouCam driver that may work for your system. Thanks CherylG!
- Save the *.exe installation package on your computer
NOTE the name and the location - the *.exe file will likely save to "Downloads “
- Install the Software / Driver installation package: If you have ‘Admin’ control, you may highlight the package(s) and “double-click” to install, else Right-Click, Select ‘run as Administrator’ and install.
After the software is installed:
Start > search / type "youcam">
(Then) Select "YouCam"
For YouCam Users:
--------------------------------------------------
If the software is already installed, but is not working,
then consider / try the following:
- Try a Hard Reset - this reconnects all the hardware in the Notebook to the Device Manager and may convince the camera that it should be working again.
Hard Reset:
Sometimes all you need to do is kick the computer. This method works for a variety of connection and ‘stuck’ program issues.
- Disconnect all external devices first.
- Remove AC power and the battery
- Press and hold power button for at least 30 seconds
- Reinstall only AC power for first startup ** See Note
- Power on - Log in
- Next time you shut down the system, reinstall battery.
** Note: If time is short, reinstall battery the first time and be done with it.
Hard Reset to Resolve Hardware and Software Issues
--------------------------------------------------
Still Not working?
- If you have a warranty, CALL HP.

You didn't mention what 'software' you tried that doesn't work?
Try Cyberlink YouCam:
