I'm Chinese. English is foreign language for me,so I'm not sure that my expression is clear or not. But the fact is I need help.Pls help me!
My dv2815nr uses VISTA operating system. I lose sound after it upgraded in April this year. I had tried many methods to solve it,but it's useless. At last, I decided to abandon Vista and changed it into XP. The problems came! 1.I can not find the drivers for sound, adapters, and so on, which can work under XP system. 2. Does it mean I can not change operating system?3.What should I do?
Thanks a lot!!!

Hi:
Your English is excellent.
What I suggest you do is to read this XP downgrade guide at the link below and under the section labeled Moderate Models.
You will find instructions on how to get your Conexant audio device to work with Windows XP.
For one thing, you must install the MS UAA driver before loading any audio drivers. If you have tried to load audio drivers, then you must uninstall them first before loading the MS UAA driver.
I think the above guide at the link I provided will help you get your sound working.

I'm very sorry that I give you reply so late. The truth is I had to abandon XP at
last, because my notebook became too hot to go on working and often shut down automatically
after working about 15-20 minutes. Besides this,it's still dumb after I had tried many
methods. Last week,I sent it to the HP service center, they also had no methods to resolve
this terrible problem. I guess that maybe there is a contradictory conflict between the
Vista upgrade and Conexant audio card support. I noticed that there were many same
complaints over this queston on the internet. HP has so many problems with batteries and
radiators, even keyboard. My key of "I" had dropped off long time ago. I was told that I had
to pay 230 RMB for a new one. If I wanted to recovery the MS original operating system, I
needed to pay 350-399 RMB. It's too expensive to afford. I would rather type without the
cap of "I" than pay so high price. Now I have lost the confidence of HP entirelly and will
never buy its products any more. Maybe recently,I will send this notebook to the second-
hand market and resolve my troule completey. Thank you for your help!
