why the preload?

Hello,I'm just wondering,why are most top-seller machines preloaded with software,ie major resellers (best buy,compusa) sell 99% of the HP's branded with MS WIN.why aren't the users given the freedom to choose what they like?

Ubuntu LINUX.I own a HP tx1000 and im so happy with ubuntu.Im just sad i had to pay MS license....im not using it and will never do...people shall be given the freedom to choose before buy,not FORCED to PAY for bugged software.....It's like buying a ferrari with a moskwich engine .....
