windows coming up smaller and have to enlarge

I was having a problem with the fonts/letters/everything on windows being huge even though I did not do any personilization to view it that way, it just started doing that on it's own.  Just all of a sudden it happened.  I changed the resolution and got that fixed but now when I click on a link  the page comes up on the screen as 1/4 the size it should be and I have to enlarge it to fit the screen.  Any ideas why this has happened and how to correct it?   Thank you for your advice and time.  Sylvia

Are you sure that it isn't the effects caused by a virus?

Yes, I tried that and did the screen resolution but the 1st window is okay now but when I click on something else it comes up a small window.  .  Thanks

Check Your system with:

1. antivirus(nod32 online).

2. antispyware (Spybot -  Search and destroy)
