zshgardm.DLL error message

Pavilion dv6-3216, winows 7 64 bit,

Getting message: There was problem startng c:\users\hpuser\appData\locat\aurigma\zshgardm.dll

Running McAfee, but recent virus/malware attack. Currently trying to fix problem with firewall turning itself off. Not sure if this error message has anything to do with that.

Ran the HP software to make sure all drivers were updated. Only optional drivers were suggested to update.

Re: zshgardm.DLL error message

 Hi,

The name of the dynamic link library (.dll ) looks random which would certainly indicate ithere's at least a left-over of your recent Malware infection.

Try the following.

On another PC, follow the procedure on the link below to create a bootable CD which you can use to scan your computer and hopefully remove the Malware.

Windows Defender Offline.

When this has completed, boot into Windows, then download and install the free versions of MBAM and SUPERAntiSpyware on the links below.

MBAM

SUPERAntiSpyware

When installed, run full scans with both these utilities - if any malware is detected, remove/quarantine it and run the scan again until both applications come back clean.

Regards,
