In the sound properties, under the speakers and headphones properties, in tone controls, how do i keep the bass tone control set above the -14 mark and set there even when Windows restarts? The Beats Audio software is DISABLED, but it or my IDT Sound device always presets the bass tone to -14 every time the computer boots up, so in other words, Windows won't save my personalized setting for my bass tones. I find this to be a minor annoyance, so any help is appreciated.
I own a Hp Pavilion dv7-6175us Notebook with Windows 7 Home Premium, switchable graphics, the 17 inch LED monitor, and of course, Beats Audio.

Tsanders,
Welcome to the HP Forum!
I do not have your exact system, I have the dv7t - with Beats... I cannot get my system to do what yours is doing so I cannot say exactly where (or why) your settings are doing this...
Here are some of what I have - and my system is "OK" (so to speak) - that "bass" tone in the Windows stays pegged at "4" and sits there.
Beats audio settings (Listening experience):
Beats Audio Checked and set to "Music" (button "music" selected)
Graphic Equalizer is set on a "Custom" setting (as opposed to one of the preset choices, example "Beats Passive")
Windows "Speakers and Headphones":
Enhancements - Disabled
Tone Controls - (4)
Advanced - 16 bit, 48000 Hz, DVD, "Allow application" and "Give exclusive mode" selections Checked

I suggest you take a look at the following link. The information may be interesting to you as an owner of a Beats audio notebook. If you choose to contact the author, you might best find one of his latest posts and click reply on that post rather than just the latest post (by someone else) in the thread. The thread has been going on for a while and it does go off tagent on occasion; beware and read through it for the whole picture. The author has so far been diligent in keeping the thread updated with new material and, as far as I know, will respond to requests when they are not repeats for the same old thing. Smiling.

My apologies, I didn't mention that Beats Audio is disabled. I understand that Beats lowers the bass tone all the down to -14, but what I don't understand is why my personal setting of 4 won't save.
