Both sound and the volume icon have disappeare d from screen on pavillion PC

I have no sound. Have rebooted. Also have no voluime icon. Can anyuone please help me repair this. Operating system is Windows 7. It was fine yesterday- no changes to computer but gone today.

Does your laptop have sound? are you able to hear music or vídeos with sound?
If yes, then your sound icon was placed hidden in the taskbar. Look for an arrow in the left side of your taskbar that shows "show hidden icons" when touched. Click on the arrow and open "Customize".
If your sound is not available and you see vídeos without sound it may be a driver problem (deleted files by error).
Go to the driver page of your laptop and install the sound drivers.

Hi,
As your computer was working fine yesterday, please try performing a system restore on your unit which may resolve the issue.

Once you open the web link above, please look out for an option " Restoring Windows to a previous point" and perform the steps mentioned there to restore your computer to a previous point in time when it was working fine.
