--one month old 6730b laptop with XP Pro SP3--
Hello all,
On a machine, one month old, the sound volume has, within the last two days of this post date, begun to set itself to the lowest possible setting in volume. If one uses the touch slider, windows volume control, or the drivers control software to increase the volume, it will, none-the-less, slide right back down to the minimum volume setting. Graphically, a person can see this effect on the screen. Slide it up, release the touch mouse pad or touch quick-launch slider, and before your eyes, the slider settings reduce until they are at the minimum setting. On the touch quick-launch slider, the minimum setting led continues to flash as if it is being pressed by a finger but it can go no further.
I have removed and re-installed the latest audio and quick-launch drivers from HP's website to no avail. The problem did not slack in the least.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I have the same issue. It would be nice if HP would answer this problem.

Hello,
Not sure if what you all are experiencing is related however, I have seen (only on the 6730b laptop) the the minimum volume LED on the slider would flash and cause the laptop to hang/lockup. If the user reboots then the laptop is fine for a short while (couple days) before the problem reoccurs.
Could it be a driver issue? (in the process of removing the HP Quicklaunch driver/app suite and installing the latest from HP Support).
Is it hardware (defective Quicklaunch touch bar)?
It would be nice to get more information about this instead of "call HP support".
Every tech in my organization is HP certified and has been searching for a reason to why this is happening on HP's sites.

I am HP Certified and have fixed this problem. The problem is not software related. You must call HP Support because the "Switch Cover" is defective aka Bezel.
