Hi, Paul:

Did you try the conexant HD audio driver for Vista from your notebook's support and driver page?

That might work.

Hi, Paul:

This is the driver you should try:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-63949-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&...=

It will load on W7.

Sometimes if you do not install an audio driver from the manufacturer's website, and just let W7 install the generic drivers, you don't get all of the features of the device to work.

So, I am hoping that driver will get your mike to work.

I also recommend you read the dv6000/dv9000 W7 upgrade guide at the link below if you have not done so already. It contains several tips and tricks that fix some issues.

Re: Does anyone know if HP or Microsoft has a fix for the mic problem after win 7 clean install?

Paul thank you very much.  You know what I did?  Well I went to Dev Man and looked at properties of sound card clicked update driver and it found a Realtec driver and that fixed the problem.  Works fine now.  Again I can't thank you enough for your time a consideration on this issue.  Don't know if I'll have anymore issues but I will certainly come here if i do.   : )  Paul

Re: Does anyone know if HP or Microsoft has a fix for the mic problem after win 7 clean install?

That is great news, Paul.

I wish I had known you had a realtek audio chip in your notebook and I would have sent you the link to the latest realtek driver from the realtek site.

Since it is fixed, I would leave it be.

Many of the dv6700's have the conexant audio and that of course requires a different driver.

I will mark your issue as solved by you, and give you a Kudos point under your name for your solution.

Best regards,

Paul
