EliteBook 8460p + 90W dock = no audio out on dock

In our company we have a number of 8460p's, which all have 90W docks. None of these will direct the audio to the audio-out jack on the dockingstation. We are running Win 7 x64 SP1 Enterprise and have fully updated all drivers. I have trawled the internet-forums and it seems that we are not alone. Any ideas?

Seeing exactly the same symptom on the EliteBook 2760p dock. Audio works fine out of the onboard speakers as well as out of the headphone jack on the laptop, but not out of the audio jack on the dock.

We fixed this problem by installing the software for the sound card... The driver wasn't enough...
